The test begins with a thorough case history, which provides our hearing healthcare professionals with specific health information that may offer insight into hearing loss causes and will assist them in determining which tests should be performed.

Full Audiometric Exam

A comprehensive hearing test is the first step in determining if you do in fact have a hearing loss. The hearing test results also allow our hearing professionals to recommend the best treatment if you do in fact have hearing loss.

This includes:

  • Air Conduction Test
  • Bone Conduction Test
  • Speech Test

Following the tests, our hearing healthcare professionals will discuss the results with you and may provide further recommendations, including treatment options, like hearing aids. During this time we explore all affordable options and benefits to ensure you receive the best available solution for your hearing needs.

Fitting Hearing Aids and Follow-Up Visits

To get the best performance from your hearing aids, get a good fit.

Your audiogram and your comments about how well you hear in different listening environments help determine the optimum setting for your hearing aids. Our hearing aid specialists will adjust your hearing instruments based on your hearing loss and lifestyle. Our hearing instrument specialists will:

  • Teach you how to operate your new hearing aids and how to adjust them for different environments
  • Offer tips for communicating while wearing hearing aids
  • Encourage you to practice inserting and removing the hearing aids
  • Instruct you on proper battery use (and how to use the recharger for rechargeable hearing aids).
  • Show you how to clean and care for your hearing aids

A good fit require a follow-up visit.

Typically, you will return for a follow up visit some days later. Wear your new hearing instruments for a few days in your regular surroundings. You may even want to write down your impressions of the sounds you hear. Based upon how well you can hear in your everyday surroundings, our hearing instruments specialists may make additional adjustments to your hearing instruments if necessary.
